After a two year and five month run, on April 1, 2006 the stand closed.
We will no longer release any new works but all of our music will remain online. Free and for a very long time. Many thanks to our past visitors and future friends.
In closing, we present 8 double disc releases and an introductory compilation by the Dondero High School A Capella Choir!

Comfort Stand Recordings is/was/still is a community-driven label where all releases are free with artwork and liner notes. We are not genre-specific and feature a wide range of material, from well-known performers to those loud unknown kids down your block. You can listen, copy and create CDs with the music on this website as long as it is for your personal and private purpose. You can offer and download this music from any file-sharing network, you can give it to your friends and you are welcome to play it on radio stations and net streams. We are a Net Label. We operate in the same way a classic record label does with only one difference: it's all digital! We do not offer recordings on physical media such as vinyl, CDs, cassettes or 8-tracks. All material is available online only, currently distributed as MP3 files.

In short... everybody needs free music.

Let's think of test tube as a test tube - literally - for emerging sound languages.
test tube is going to release EPs and LPs on mp3 or ogg format, with artwork thinked and designed by aeriola::behaviour. We see our releases as a whole.The music released on test tube, remains intellectual property of the artists. It is solely for free distribution and promotion, with no intent on financial gain. sepia hours is an indietronica/post- modern songwriting project by sébastien biset, from belgium. what about “post-modernism” in this music ? an emphasis on fragmented forms, discontinuous narratives, and random-seeming collages of different materials.
dreamy vocals and ambient grooves, layers and melodies continue to appear, a series of interconnecting lines move with the waves of music . harmonies and playful quality made it accessible… between instrumental minimalism, indie songs, experimentation and electronics, whispers and veiled samplers, between attempts and unavoidable errors, sounds investigations try to come as pure organic material.

το funky house ως dance μουσικό genre έλαμψε στα dancefloors την περίοδο 1997-2002 ως αποτέλεσμα του μουσικού τσουνάμι που είχαν προκαλέσει τότε οι Daft Punk -οι οποίοι παρεπιπτόντως μόλις κυκλοφόρησαν ενα best of το οποίο θα αντάλλασα ευχαρίστως με 300 κόπιες της disco buzz-, ακολουθώντας και αυτό τη νομοτέλεια που διέπει την επίκαιρη φύση της χορευτικής μουσικής με αποτέλεσμα να τελμάτωσει μέσα στις ίδιες του τις ιδέες. η συλλογη disco buzz είναι ενα λαμπρό παράδειγμα της κακοήθειας στην οποία εχει πέσει το εν λόγω στίλ στις μέρες μας. Είκοσι ανέμπνευστα στην συντριπτική τους πλειοψηφία κλεψιτυπα λαμπρών στιγμών του disco sound απαρτίζουν μια συλλογή που δεν έχει κανένα λόγο ύπαρξης στην εποχή μας. αν συνυπολογίσουμε και το άκομψο πετσόκομα των περισσοτέρων tracks -εν έτει 2006!- τότε δεν χωρά καμμιά αμφιβολία ο,τι το disco buzz είναι καταδικασμένο να πέσει στην ανυποληψία και να χαθεί σε λίγο καιρό απο σήμερα στις αποθήκες της δισκογραφικής που το δημιούργησε. μια συλλογή κομμένη και ραμμένη στα μέτρα των εμπορικών ποπ ραδιοφώνων με τούς φωνακλάδες παραγωγούς που είναι πιστά υποταγμένοι στην δικτατορία των playlists.

Η περίπτωση των telex είναι σχεδόν μοναδική. πρόκειται για ενα πρωτοποριακό, cult και άκρως σουρεαλιστικό ηλεκτρονικό multimedia τρίο -με προεξαρχουσα την μορφή του ιδιοφυούς marc moulin - που υπάρχει απο το 1978 και που μουσικολογικά θα μπορούσε να χαρακτηριστει ως η light εκδοχή των kraftwerk ή σωστότερα το χαμένο κομμάτι του πάζλ που που συμπληρώνει τους pioneers της ηλεκτρονικής σκηνής.

* o ήχος τους είναι ενα κράμα απο disco,electro, pop και ξεδιάντροπο humor.

* η καλλιτεχνική τους περσόνα είναι παραλληλη με αυτην των devo και residents.

* το 1980 εμφανίσθηκαν στην eurovision με το ποιο εξτρεμιστικο τραγούδι που έχει παρουσιάσει η ανούσια αυτη διοργάνωση.[αν αυτο δεν είναι σουρεαλισμός τοτε τι είναι;]

* o τύπος της εποχής αδυνατεί να αντιληφθεί πόσο σημαντικοί ήταν [γεγονός που σήμερα βγάζει μάτια.]

* φέτος επιστρέφουν [ως telex, γιατί ως ξεχωριστές καριέρες δεν σταμάτησαν λεπτό να είναι μέσα στην μουσική, για ρίχτε μιά ματιά στα credits των δίσκων των deep forest] μετά απο είκοσι χρόνια με το album: how do you dance? ενα υπέροχο electro pop μπουκέτο απο δέκα παλια unreleased και νέα τους κομμάτια. αρκεί να ακούσεις ενα τους κομμάτι για να καταλάβεις πόσο σημαντική επιρροή εχουν υπάρξει για την ηλεκτρονική μουσική των τελευταίων είκοσι χρόνων [αλλά και των επόμενων δέκα που έρχονται. ]
